Xbox E3 2017 Press Conference Will Focus on Games

Head honcho of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, makes an open declaration that the company's upcoming E3 2017 press conference will focus on games.

Even though E3 2017 is still couple of months away, the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, has decided to announce that the tech firm's upcoming press conference at the event will be more focused on its games during the presentation. As stated by Spencer, when Xbox is given its time to shine during the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the company usually fails to give the audience a fully comprehensive idea of what it has to offer in regards to its software, and this year year it will try to be more thorough in their descriptions at the exhibition.

When talking about the matter with fans on Twitter, Phil Spencer responded to a user who wrote that Xbox needed to do its best to promote more of its first party titles than any other games that will be available on the platform, which the Xbox agreed with to a point. In response, Phil Spencer wrote, "I want to give our games more time on stage at E3, I sometimes feel like we're rushing the story of our games at E3."

Naturally, although it seems as if Spencer and his team at Xbox will keep first-party games in mind and concentrate more on them during E3 2017 than in previous years, it doesn't necessarily mean that the company's press conference will be strictly limited to talking about its software. As it looks like, Microsoft plans on debuting its upgraded Xbox console under the current code name of Project Scorpio sometime later this year. However, while the tech firm devoted most of its presentation time at last year's E3 to the upcoming system, it might be that Project Scorpio could appear before this year's exhibition in some capacity.

Few months ago, the Xbox boss discussed the platform's E3 2017 game lineup, saying that he was satisfied with what the company would have to show at this year's press conference. Right now, Xbox has a great number of first-party titles in the works for the console, including Crackdown 3, Forza 2017, and Sea of Thieves, which will all likely be presented during E3 2017 in some shape or form.

Microsoft's Xbox press conference for E3 2017 will take place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM PT.
