Analysts believe that the significantly lower sales of Xbox 360 is a result of frequent rumors about his successor.
Although Xbox 360 is still the best selling console in the U.S., Microsoft has announced that the sales in holiday time visibly dropped over the same period a year earlier.
According to an official statement, Microsoft has delivered 5.9 million consoles during last three months which is considerably less compared to 8.2 million a year earlier.
Interest for Xbox 360 games is lower which can be seen from the statistics of games sales, but some analysts say the fault for weaker demand is Microsoft itself.
Since rumors started about new Xbox, prospective buyers are increasingly difficult for the older generation of consoles when it is obvious that the new is infront of a door.
