-----------The Shard
Any Parkour fans in? Great. Because this game is meant to be played by all guys out there that want to have
more dramatic and intense parkour experience as well as for anyone else who just likes the idea of new good
alt-gaming experiences. This game takes place in a quasi-futuristic dystopian society which is military controlled.
A group of so called 'runners' are acting as couriers to transmit messages. The main character is named symbolically Faith and
many main things are up to her. As you might have already guessed, this is Mirror's Edge. This game gives you a good
gaming experience alongside with very deep and subtle story behind all that running around and delivering messages
and retrieving data. The story has its ups and downs and a beautiful ending as a wanted result after all the levels of
danger have been passed. This year we have the new game called Mirror's Edge Catalyst that again takes place in the
quasi-futuristic dystopian society called Glass, which is again, a symbolic name, where 13 major private corporations
are in control such as Pirandello Kruger and people like Robert Pope. But not to stress this one too much because the
game is very new and fresh and any further detailing would spoil the adventure and ruin the pleasure and the factor of
surprise. Both games are by EA DICE Entertainment and are first-person but, to more realistic level where you can see
your arms well, your torso and feet and maybe, just maybe, that is what gives the game one more realistic and exciting
experience while dweling around the city doing parkour and your job as well. The interesting thing about Mirror’s Edge
is that it is based on just a few solid colours: white (most obviously), red (same), blue, green, orange, black, all other
colours maybe exist but the’re just that much minor that we don’t notice as we do the above mentioned and this is too,
some kind of symbolism in that particular action of the producers and developers, that simply gives us the monotonous
picture of that dystopian society in a more subtle way.
