The Evil Within 2 Leaked By Job Description
-----------A leaked job description suggests that The Evil Within 2 might be in the works, and could be making an appearance during Bethesda's E3 2017 press conference.
The survival horror title from Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within, might be getting a sequel, if a recent job listing is to be believed. According to the posting, the title is getting ready to enter the QA and translation phase, which could mean gamers will see The Evil Within 2 make an appearance during Bethesda's E3 2017 Press Conference. Even though the original job listing is in Japanese, its translation provides gamers with few pieces of information about the sequel. For starters, the game is reportedly coming to Xbox One and PS4, which is to be expected.
Naturally, any news regarding The Evil Within 2 should be treated as a rumor until Bethesda or developer Tango Gameworks make an official announcement. It's just as possible that someone put together a job posting for Psychobreak 2, the Evil Within title in Japan (think Biohazard and Resident Evil), simply as a form of wish fulfillment. With that said, it's safe to assume Tango Gameworks is working on a new game; the studio hasn't shared anything in a while and Bethesda seems to value The Evil Within property.
The first The Evil Within released in 2014, but as a split-platform release. The title had some downsides, according to reviews, but all-in-all it appeared as if Mikami's team found a way to blend survival and psychological horror in an inventive way. At a time when Resident Evil was a more action heavy focused, The Evil Within offered something a little closer to the earlier RE games.
Without any known properties in the works, the conference this year is a mystery, but The Evil Within 2 might be at least a part of the presentation, if not a cornerstone. More info be revealed in June.
There's no official confirmation about The Evil Within 2 from Tango Gameworks or publisher Bethesda.
