State of Decay 2 Will Feature Three Maps, Possibly More Later
-----------Undead Labs' Director of Community details why the developer is going to offer three maps for State of Decay 2 at launch, and points out that more may be coming in the future.
With the release of State of Decay 2 set for later this year, developer Undead Labs has posted an update on the game's blog which contained details about the upcoming zombie survival title. The developer's plans for the maps in State of Decay 2 are described in the latest post, which together will be much larger than the map from 2011's State of Decay.
In the blog post, Director of Community Sanya Weathers describes how State of Decay 2 will come with three maps for players to enjoy. Although Weathers didn't share exactly how these maps will be explored or presented for players, she did give out few details as to why the developer is offering more than one map for players.
In essence, Undead Labs is offering several maps in order to keep things fresh for players and to open the door to more content down the road. It seems like each map will will come with its own missions and activities that will, in one way, link together with into the overall story. If the concept art that released earlier offers any insight, players will be able to enjoy various types of environments in State of Decay 2's maps. In addition, it seems comments in the blog post hint that players will move from one map to the next in the post-apocalyptic world of State of Decay 2. As players make their way to each map, they will have the ability to take their characters, rucksacks, and weapons with them. Players will also get a small refund on any money spent in the previous area once they move on the next map.
State of Decay 2 is scheduled to release in 2017 for Xbox One and PC.
