Resident Evil Code: Veronica Coming to PS4
-----------A German software ratings board listed a PlayStation 4 version of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, a game that has yet to be officially announced by Capcom.
Germany's ESRB equivalent, USK, has rated Resident Evil Code: Veronica for PS4, showing that the game is on its way to modern consoles as either a port or remaster. However, the USK has since removed its listing for Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which probably means that it got posted by mistake. Before the USK could remove Resident Evil Code: Veronica's PS4 rating, NeoGAF user YianGaruga managed to save the details.
The game was given a 16 rating (in ESRB terms, "M" for Mature) and the listing was originally posted on March 17th. Since the recently removed listing was posted not too long ago, it could mean that Capcom is preparing to announce the PS4 version of Resident Evil Code: Veronica soon.
As stated earlier, Resident Evil Code: Veronica on PS4 migiht be a port of the HD version of the game or getcompletely remastered like the Resident Evil remake and Resident Zero remasters that Capcom released over the past couple of years. On the other hand, it's possible that Resident Evil Code: Veronica is the next PS2-on-PS4 game, since the listing names the PlayStation 4 as its only platform.
Even though there are countless possibilities in regards to bringing Resident Evil Code: Veronica to PS4, the most likely scenario is that the game is a port of the HD remaster that released five years ago. It's possible that the game is also coming to PC and Xbox One as well, considering the fact that almost every other main series Resident Evil game is available on those systems in addition to PS4.
If Resident Evil Code: Veronica is coming to modern consoles as the USK listing suggests, there would only be two main series Resident Evil games missing from the PS4 library. Those games are Resident Evil 2, which is getting a remake, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, which would probably need an upgrade in the vein of Resident Evil HD Remaster before it make its way to modern consoles.
Resident Evil Code: Veronica is currently available for GameCube, PS2, PS3, Sega Dreamcast, and Xbox 360.
