Following the retail release of Slitherine Software's Spartan (and its stand-alone expansion, Gates of Troy), the developer announced Legion Arena. In the same theme as the recent retail games, Legion Arena has players taking control of a Roman legion and pits them against various computer-controlled opponents. Players begin with just one legionnaire general character, who can draft more units as his fame and experience grows from success in battle. The names and appearances of all units in the legion can be customized by the player, and all units become stronger as they gain experience.
