Activision says "Call of Duty has never been stronger" Despite Recent Events
-----------During Activision's earnings call yesterday, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg was asked about the dislikes on YouTube for the new Call of Duty, saying that the same thing happened with Black Ops 2, the most successful Call of Duty game when it launched.
Even though it is obvious the players clearly started criticizing the direction the series take after the announcement of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and it's reveal trailer (which sits with around 500,000 dislikes, compared to 203,000 likes), that doesn't seem to bother Activision and pre-orders for Call of Duty Infinite Warfare are doing well.
The company's president Eric Hirshberg is so convinced that he's doing the right thing that he even announced that the Call of Duty franchise has never been stronger.
"With Black Ops III, we've done a great game fans will love, which proves the number of monthly active users, which never in the history of the series was never that high" - said Hirshberg in a recent conversation with the investors. "The sale of the season-pass is better than ever and we expect that we're gonna sell the highest number of DLCs to the players"
"The franchise has never been stronger. Huge number of gamers are playing Black Ops III, a game that takes place in the future with boost jumps and fictitious weapons and all the rest, than any game in our history." adding and concluding that how this clearly shows that there's still place for a futuristic environment in the Call of Duty series.
Activision's Robert Kostich also believes that Call of Duty Infinite Warfare will not have problems with sales and that the game offers enormous value that's worth the money, which he said it in a recent interview. We have yet to see how the game's release will respond to all this.
