Titanfall Gets a Release Date
-----------Call of Duty developer's multiplayer-only shooter launching next year for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, Collector's Edition also revealed.
The multiplayer-only shooter from Respawn Entertainment, Titanfall will be released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in North America on March 11, with a European launch following March 13, the studio announced today.
During the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo in June Respawn said that cross-platform play will "most likely" not be supported, but nothing is set in stone yet. Since Microsoft Game Studios corporate vice president has spoken saying cross-platform play between Xbox One and PC "makes sense."
The $250 Titanfall Collectior's Edition will feature 18" hand-crafted Titan statue with a scenery and battery-powered LED lighting. It will also include 190-page art book and a schematic post of the Atlas Titan.
The collector's edition can be preordered today through the Titanfall online store by paying a $100 deposit. Deposits will be refundable within two weeks of purchase, after which customers will have to pay 20 percent cancellation fee. The bonuses that are featured in the collector's edition will be shiped in advance of the game's release.
Infinity Ward co founder Vince Zampella was one of the numerous former Call of Duty developers that created Titanfall.
