Sony to Stop Online Support for Several PS3 Games
-----------Online support for a handfull of Sony's first-party PlayStation 3 games will be removed in the first half of 2014, Sony has revealed.
A support article on the official PlayStation website describes the upcoming online support shutdowns, with dates.
Some of the significant shutdowns include all three resistance games for PS3 Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2, and Resistance which will no longer have online mode from March 28, 2014. Just two months later, on May 20, 2014, Gran Turismo 5 will also be shut down. Previous to all this, on January 28, 2014, MAG, SOCOM 4 (also known as SOCOM: Special Forces), and SOCOM: Confrontation will all see their online features cut off.
This means that all these games will have their online features disabled, though they will still be playable in offline mode. The only exclusion from this will be MAG and SOCOM: Confrontation, the two games lack offline components. Which means they will be unplayable after their respectable shutdowns.
