Nintendo Delays Pokemon Bank

It is already known that the 3DS app that was planned to be launched two days ago has not been released, with Nintendo issuing a statement.

The Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter 3DS apps have been delayed due to "large volume of traffic" to the Nintendo Network service, Nintendo announced on their support page, the apps were planed to be launched on December 27.

"Due to the high traffic, players are having trouble setting up Nintendo Network IDs and downloading content in the Nintendo eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS," Nintendo said. "We truly regret the inconvenience, and wish to reassure everyone that providing a solution is our top priority. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."

The Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter will allow users to manage up to 3,000 Pokemon in their own private cloud space, which will require an internet connection.

Previously Nintendo said that anyone who downloads Pokemon Bank between December 27, 2013 and January 31, 2014 will receive a 30-day trial of the service for free. After this period ends the Pokemon Bank will cost $4.99/£4.49/€4.99 a year.

It is not yet clear if Nintendo is changing the free sign-up period as a result of the delay.
