Microsoft Reportedly Testing Glasses
-----------Sources reveal that Microsoft has created prototypes for internet-connected eyeglasses similar to Google Glass, Kinect designer is reportedly leading the team.
Microsoft might be on it's way to get back some ground from Google after they released Google Glass, with their own eyewear.
One source has reported that Microsoft has spoken with "several" Asian component makers to supply them with cameras and other components for the prototype. This source also said that this wearable technology might only be experimental and it could never achieve mass production.
Microsoft is "determined to take the lead in hardware manufacturing to make sure the company won't miss out on the opportunities in the wearable gadget market," the source continued.
It is still unclear if this rumored eyewear will have any connection to the Xbox.
A leaked 56-page document from June 2012 suggest Microsoft was planing to offer the eyewear for the Xbox One. The eyeglasses would be called "Fortaleza" and planned to launch in 2014, and will run on Wi-Fi and 4G connections.
Sony is reportedly also working on a virtual reality headset that could be announced in 2014.
