Fallout 4 Survival Mode now on PS4 and Xbox One
-----------Update 1.5, which allows gamers to try Survival Mode for the first time, is now live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Even though the buzz around Fallout 4 has dropped in the past months, Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG has managed to remain on top of things far after its initial release due to a variety of updates and DLC packages. While fans of the Fallout series have been waiting for the release of the Fallout 4 Far Harbor DLC, which is the biggest update this game has seen since its been out, Bethesda teased games with a Survival Mode which is meant to hit closer to home to Vault Dwellers who look for a bigger challenge.
This is an interesting time for player because Fallout 4's Survival Mode comes two weeks before the Far Harbor DLC. While the 1.5 patch adds support for the upcoming Far Harbor expansion, the timing is also a product of Bethesda, who wants players to get used to Survival Mode ahead of a sudden surge of renewed interest. If the Fallout 4 community is capable, it will fix all the bugs itself, so it makes sense for Bethesda to prioritize more content.
Fallout 4's support for console players has increased drastically over the past few months. Prior to this, Bethesda has also indicated that the developer of Fallout 4's console mods would bring them to gamers in the future. This will only help Fallout 4's extraordinary modding community, which is extremely dedicated and highly popular. This move will only solidify itself as a haven for game modders.
Some of the new features are as follows:
-New Survival Mode difficulty.
-Characters set to Survival appear under their own selection filter.
-Survival adds additional challenges like: no fast travel, being able to save only when you sleep, increased lethality and more.
-Improved Third-person camera movement when the player is close up against objects.
