EA Executive Talks HD Remasters
-----------It "feels like pushing stuff out because you've run out of ideas."
Electronic Arts COO Peter Moore has criticized Microsoft, Sony, Capcom, and Activision for releasing HD remasters for new-generation consoles. He said that EA will not do that and that it "feels like pushing stuff out because you've run out of ideas."
Moore also told IGN that EA doesn't have time to work on HD remasters. Instead, he said, "We're a company that just likes to push forward."
He added: "For a lot of companies, remakes are a way to drive revenue. It's sub-cost, it's an IP that's there, you can remaster, and that's great. We don't do that here. I don't think that’s ever been in our culture."
Even though EA has no plans for HD remasters, its games may end up on the Xbox One through the backwards compatibility, which will be released in November.
