"Doom" reaches incredible framerates on GTX 1080

Footage that shows the game running at 200FPS with the help of the incredibly powerful nVidia GTX 1080 has been revealed.

A few days ago, nVidia announced their latest graphic powerhouse, the GTX 1080. Now, developers at id Software have shown more footage of their DOOM reboot with this video card, and the results are outstanding.

As some reports say, there are still a few graphical glitches in the game at higher frame rates, to be more specific, at 200FPS. The developers say that there are still some bugs in the engine of the game that they weren't able to detect without the power of the GTX 1080 graphics card. This powerful GPU is said to have twice the performance of the Titan X with 9 TFlops of rendering performance.

Doom, which came somewhere in between Gears of War 4 and Overwatch on Youtube's trending games in April list, has generated a lot of excitement, along with being the first title of the series after Doom 3 in 2004. Doom will offer quite a challenge for hardcore fans and gamers, especially in a world obsessed with From Software's unbelievably difficult games. The fact that none of the game's development team has been able to clear the game on the hardest difficulty says a lot about how difficult it will be.

Judging by the footage we've seen of the single-player campaign, fans of this bloody shooter should be pleased with the directions Doom has taken. With extensive player progression and customization options that will drastically improve the replayability of the game, the multiplayer gamemode should definitely make this game worth its price tag.

Whether or not you have played the previous versions of the game, id Software's reboot could potentially be one the best games in 2016, judging by what many consider it to be the definitive first person shooter.
