Destiny Players Who Pre-Ordered Game on Amazon Are Unhappy
-----------A number of gamers who pre-ordered the Rise of Iron expansion for Destiny through Amazon reported issues on Reddit with their Gjallarwing Sparrow code.
Those who pre-ordered Rise of Iron for Destiny should've received an Iron Gjallarhorn and a Gjallarwing Sparrow as pre-order bonuses. It was stated ahead of launch that these bonuses were not retailer-exclusive, still there seems to be a lot of people who pre-ordered the game through Amazon that haven't got the code to download their Gjallarwing Sparrow.
These individuals have got in touch with Amazon customer support, with mixed results. Amazon customer support has told some of them that the Gjallarwing Sparrow was a GameStop-exclusive, but others have received their code right after their conversation with Amazon reps ended. Some UK gamers have been told that the Gjallarwing Sparrow is not available in the UK, however there are opposite reports as to whether that is true or not.
One gamer reported that Amazon customer service said that there was some sort of misunderstanding with Bungie, that's why many people haven't received their Gjallarwing Sparrow code, and the company works closely with the Destiny developer to fix the issues. Nonetheless, with so much conflicting information about the situation, it's difficult to say what happened exactly at this time.
In addition to this pre-order bonus mess up, the Rise of Iron launch has been sort of rocky in other ways as well. For instance, because of the severe server overload, there were thousands of people that couldn't access the game at all when the new expansion released last Tuesday. Bungie has managed to take care of those issues since then, but still, anyone that took a day off work or school to play Rise of Iron on launch day couldn't have been much happy.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One.
