COD: Ghosts to Require a Patch to Run at 1080p on PS4
-----------Activision will release a day one patch for the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty Ghosts that will improve the native resolution for the single-player campaign.
For Call of Duty: Ghosts to run at native 1080p, Activision have announced a day-one patch, rather than being upscaled from 720p.
“Call of Duty: Ghosts runs natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4. There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single player mode only. This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p.”
Last month Infinity Ward confirmed that Ghosts will run at native 1080p on PS4 despite being upscaled from 720p on the Xbox One. Mark Rubin, Infinity Ward executive producer explained “there’s no specific reason why one’s 720p, one’s 1080p. That’s just the way the optimization came out to. To keep a smooth frame rate we needed to be 720p on Xbox One. That being said, it is being upscaled to 1080p, so it is outputting 1080p on your TV, and for the most part the game does look really good.”
