Amazon Reveals Next Gen Sale Figures

The retailer reveals Xbox One and PS4 sold 1,000 systems per minute at peak.

Amazon has revealed that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were very popular this holiday shopping season that at peak, both systems were selling at a rate of 1,000 consoles per minute.

This information was revealed as part of an announcement of Amazons best holiday shopping season. In the announcement Amazon also revealed that on Cyber Monday alone, shoppers ordered more than 36.8 million items worldwide at a pace of 426 items per second.

So far the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are neck and neck in worldwide sales, with both selling over 2 million consoles to date. Sony has an expectation to sell a total of 3 million units by December 31, which is tomorrow.

Lastly Amazon revealed its top-selling video games for the holiday period. In the first place is Call of Duty: Ghosts for the Xbox 360, while in second place is Wii's Just Dance 2014, and lastly it is Xbox 360's Grand Theft Auto V.
