Endless Space

Endless Space

The name says it all, space-based, sci-fi game both in single-player and multi-player developed and published by Amplitude Studios

done in Engine Unity for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. It also counts in the genre turn-based strategy and 4X which is a genre

of strategy-based video and board games in which players control an empire and "eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate" as a

pun on the XXX rating for pornography. The term was coined by Alan Emrich in his September 1993 preview of Master of Orion for

Computer Gaming World. Since then, others have adopted the term to describe games of similar scope and design. Other game

commentators adopted the "4X" label to describe a game genre with these specific gameplay conventions. 4X computer games are

noted for their deep, complex gameplay. Emphasis is placed upon economic and technological development, as well as a range of

non-military routes to supremacy. Games can take a long time to complete since the amount of micromanagement needed to sustain

an empire increases as the empire grows. 4X games are sometimes criticized for becoming tedious for these reasons, and several games

have attempted to address these concerns by limiting micromanagement, with varying degrees of success.

This type of games include peaceful competitionwhich means that 4X games allow rival players to engage in diplomacy. While some strategy

games may offer shared victory and team play, diplomatic relations tend to be restricted to a binary choice between an ally or enemy. 4X games

often allow more complex diplomatic relations between competitors who are not on the same team. Aside from making allies and enemies, players

are also able to trade resources and information with rivals. Next, there are several victory conditions. There, a player wins the game when they reach

the requirements for a number of victory conditions, such as:

-Expansion: conquer 75% or more of the colonized universe.

-Scientific: the first player to research the Pan-Galactic Society, the last technology of the Science tree, wins the game. That particular technological wonder

is very hard to get, and reaching the ends of the other technology trees will make it easier to finish.

-Economic: the first player to reach a certain level of cumulative revenue (Dust) wins. Only overall revenue matters, so it does not matter if you spent it all.

-Diplomatic: if you manage to survive long enough while being at war the least amount of time, you may be able to impose yourself and win thanks to your

wisdom and integrity.

-Supremacy: the first player to own all the original players’ homeworlds will win.

-Wonder: the first player to build five "Endless wonder" structures will win.

-Score: if no one managed to win with one of the previous victory conditions, the player with the highest score wins when the turn limit is reached.

P.S.: Endless Space is deep into this categoty of games so basically everything that was said above aplies to the game, respectively.
