Steam Summer Sale 2016 Dates Have Been Leaked

According to a Reddit user MrFreemanBBQ, this year Steam's Summer Sale will appear on June 23. The Reddit user has shared a screenshot on a Russian language from Valve that suggest this year's sale period will be starting on June 23 and runs through July 4.

Valve has not come out with any announcement for a Steam Sale happening this year, but it will keep it traditional as always. These dates leaking by a Russian tipster are also becoming like a pattern though. Last year, this Reddit user was responsible for sharing the same information with Steam customers, giving them heads up about 2015's Summer Sale as well.

After the post on Reddit, dates appeared on the Russian social network VK that had a great deal of popularity.

Shortly after, Valve has announced the dates for the Summer Sale, which matched the same MrFreemanBBQ shared ahead of the announcement. The Redditor has managed to do this with several of the seasonal discounts on Steam in the past, including the Summer Sale in 2012 and Holiday Sale in 2013.

Paypal was also responsible for an early date announcement, accidentally sharing the Winter Sale's in 2015. A promotional image was shared by the website that mentioned the start of the Winter Sale ahead of Valve's confirmation.

Despite his genuinity remaining unknown, MrFreemanBBQ has never been wrong about each of the leaked sales period dates. Last year's sale offered a clicker game that was playable from right inside of Steam, and players could earn Steam trading cards and unlock discounts.

More exciting than the dates of the summer sale will be the list of games of course. Lots of gamers have skipped AAA releases during their first six months, with hope that they can get a huge discount during one of the major sales that will follow.

There has been no official release date confirming the upcoming Steam Summer Sale.
