Slightly Mad Studios Announces World of Speed
-----------The Need for Speed: Shift developer Slightly Mad Studios has announced World of Speed, which is a new MMO racing game launching on PC this year.
Studio creative director Andy Tudor said that World of Speed will not put any content behind a paywall "because that's completely obvious." He continued to explain how important is to make players who do not wish to pay feel no disadvantage compared to players who pay.
"Do it fair and don't ever let the player feel like they're being cheated because someone has paid," Tudor said about World of Speed's business model. "It's not rocket science. You can go all the way through the entire game to the highest level without spending a penny at all."
The official launch of the game is set to be followed by "continuous" supply of new content like cars, tracks, game types, and features. That is Slightly Mad's vision to make a game that resembles a platform not a singular game.
A closed beta for World of Speed is set to go live this spring, and you can sign up right now on the game's website. World of Speed will be published worldwide by My.com, operator of free-to-play games like Jungle Heat and Poker Arena, among others. The game is set to be released this fall.
