Remastered Crash Bandicoot Games Announced For PS4

The E3 2016 presentation of Sony contained a surprise featuring an old icon - Crash Bandicoot games will get remastered from the ground up for PS4.

Crash Bandicoot is a PlayStation franchise that many fans grew up playing, and worked a lot like Super Mario as an answer to Sony. It comes as no surprise that fans of the Crash Bandicoot series had their wishes heard and Sony saw just how large the demand is for new Crash Bandicoot games for the PS4. However, with the news that Crash Bandicoot would appear in Skylanders, fans of the series were worried that their favorite Sony hero would be relegated to a bit-part on current gen consoles.

Sony then made an announcement during its E3 2016 presentation that Crash Bandicoot games will be getting remastered for the PS4. Sony also gave an order for Crash Bandicoot 1, Crash Bandicoot 2, and Crash Bandicoot Warped to all be rebuilt and remastered from the ground up for the PS4. Sony has clearly heard gamer's requests for Crash Bandicoot to be resurrected on next gen consoles, and fans will be very satisfied to know that the games are coming in the near future.

Sony has been teasing Crash Bandicoot's return for some time now, but the references and hints had gone on for too long that gamers assumed it was just a joke for social Sony media departments to toy with feelings of Crash Bandicoot fans. Although Sony didn't displayed any gameplay footage, the audience accepted the news with exceptional positivity.

While Sony haven't announced a new Crash Bandicoot game, this was the next best thing. Everything about the announcement made a new gen market test, and if the new remastered version of Crash Bandicoot sells well and stirs up the same sort of passion that older gamers have for Sony's mascot in younger generations, it's likely a new Crash Bandicoot will make an appearance next.

Crash Bandicoot will be a PS4 exclusive game. No official release date available yet.
