Overwatch's Mercy Halloween Skin Getting New Voice Line Following Fan Requests

-----------
.....

After the hundreds of requests from fans to include Mercy's Junkenstein Brawl voice line 'My servants never die,' Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan responded with a simple 'OK.'

The big Halloween Terror event for Overwatch was launched a few days ago, and lots of players have been satisfying themselves in Blizzard's latest seasonal event, whether it's hunting down new Halloween cosmetics for every character or being part of the new co-op Brawl mode titled Junkenstein's Revenge. One hero in particular, Mercy, has received a lot of attention for her new Halloween-themed makeover, so much so that fans have started asking for a certain change to be made permanent.

Overwatch's latest update introduced a new legendary witch skin for Mercy, including a new Ultimate voice line - "My servants never die" - that's used in the Junkenstein's Revenge Brawl. Sadly, that new voice line won't be included when players obtain Mercy's new witch skin, and many have started petitioning for the character's current Ultimate voice line - "Heroes never die" - to be changed with her new Halloween one. After hundreds of posts on the Blizzard forums for the change, the director of Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan showed up and gave a quick but welcome response - "Ok. ETA mid-Nov."

The launch of Mercy's new voice line in mid-November will mean the Halloween Terror event will already be over, and this indicates that the line will be unlocked via normal loot boxes or by using the in-game currency instead of the need to win any seasonal loot boxes. Fans will also be glad to know that Mercy's new voice line won't be the only thing to come, as there is a pack of new Overwatch content that's been currently worked on.

The short and timely response from Kaplan to the community's Mercy petition highlights the positive communication between developer and gamer, and combined with the release of new content on a regular basis from Blizzard, Overwatch's current 20 million player base is likely to grow even larger.

Overwatch is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
