New Map for Team Fortress 2 After Halloween Update

Valve is planning to release its Team Fortress 2 Halloween-themed event, revealing a new crate, taunts, three community maps and boosts for un-boxing odds.

New broke that Team Fortress 2 is not gonna get a new event from Valve for Halloween this year, but that doesn't mean that Valve is gonna entirely look over the holiday. Team Fortress 2 has received an update for Halloween which features a myriad of new items, taunts and maps.

The new update is Scream Fortress VIII and just like all Halloween celebrations before, it allows players to access all of the Halloween-specific additions or events that were released in prior updates, just like facing off against the Horseless Headless Horseman and casting spells. This year's Scream Fortress VIII is bringing two new taunts, three community-made Halloween-themed maps, and a new crate that holds 21 different cosmetic items and one item that adds an unusual effect to any taunt. Additionally, Valve temporarily doubled the likelihood of un-boxing a unique cosmetic from any crate, and all crates that are opened during the event will have a Halloween unusual effect applied to them.

The two new taunts include a Victory lap, created by Valve and it's a taunt that will let the player cruise around whenever they'd like in the Merasmus bumper car that was included in the game back in the Halloween update in 2014. The other taunt is Second Rate Sorcery, which features a unique taunt for each class attempting to cast spells.

Team Fortress 2 has been overshadowed by Overwatch recently, during to its lack of major content and updates in recent years. Nevertheless, Valve is showing more support for a free ten year old game that a lot of game developers would. Team Fortress 2's new matchmaking system was eagerly anticipated by the players, and it's still been criticized for having a lot of negative things.

The Scream Fortress VIII event will run from this day until November 9th.
