The LEGO Group, Warner Bros. Interactive and TT games have announced that building simulator LEGO Worlds will be receiving online multiplayer.

With the becoming of Minecraft as an all-powerful creativity behemoth, it comes as no surprise to watch its real world predecessor taking the move into video games with similar idea. Get inside LEGO Worlds, an attempt by the Lego Group to break the Minecraft racket. With last year's initial trailer debut, the early access title from TT games and Warner Bros. Interactive will receive an update that makes it even more attractive prospect for gamers.

TT Games, Warner Bros. Interactive and the LEGO Group revealed that LEGO Worlds is going to feature an online multiplayer functionality. Split screen co-op multiplayer is already present in the game, but allowing users to go online will no doubt prove popular. The new online multiplayer mode will let two players explore each other's worlds, build together, and take part in cooperative and competitive gameplay experience.

The game is now available on PC for users with early access, and The LEGO Group is apparently happy with how the title is progressing so far. Niels Jorgensen, the Vice President of Digital Games for LEGO said “We are very please to see how LEGO Worlds has grown." As it turns out, the game will offer an explorable open world where players can build areas with various themes, from cowboys to vampires and medieval kings.

No doubt that this move will improve the LEGO worlds experience, in fact, some even argue that online multiplayer is a must in a game of this type. During E3 2016, the developer announced that the game is going to receive texture packs and add-ons to make it diverse even further on what players can create, and it looks like the aim of The Friendly Update is to bring cross-platform play across every part of Minecraft.

LEGO has had a fairly busy time during E3 2016. A new trailer was released during Sony's press conference for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, giving the latest Star Wars franchise a LEGO makeover.

LEGO Worlds is available in early access for PC.
