Dedicated Servers on all Platforms for Call of Duty: Ghosts
-----------Executive producer Mark Rubin said on Twitter Infinity Ward will offer dedicated servers for all versions of the game.
Up until now, Infinity ward only had confirmed during Gamescom that the PC and Xbox One versions will feature dedicated servers.
"Dedicated servers will be used on current-gen, next-gen and PC with Ghosts," he said. Rubin clarified that the game will use both dedicated and listen servers, with the choice depending on the players proximity to a dedicated server.
"No matter where you are, the game will always be trying to give you the best online performance possible," said Rubin. In addition, Ghosts' matchmaking technology will put players in matches with "the best combined overall connectivity performance."
Follow-up tweets revealed that Infinity Ward is hoping to add a server browser and the ability to rent ranked servers after launch, and a mod tools for the PC, although the studio hasn't started working on them.
Call of Duty: Ghosts will launch on November 5, on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U, November 15 for PlayStation 4 and November 22 for the Xbox One.
