Assassin's Creed creator Gets 1666 Amsterdam Rights
-----------Patrice Désilets has "creative and business control" of 1666 Amsterdam.
Before getting fired from Ubisoft Patrice Désilets was working on 1666 Amsterdam, an open world historical adventure IP. After a long legal battle, Désilets has emerged victorious and has gained "creative and business control" over 1666 Amsterdam.
"I'm glad Ubisoft and I were able to come to an agreement that will allow me to obtain the rights to project 1666 Amsterdam. I will now devote myself entirely to the development of Ancestors: the Humankind Odyssey, my next game with Panache Digital Games, said Désilets in a statement."
"This is what matters most to me today: making the best games and showing the world the creative talent of Quebecers. I also wish every success to the Ubisoft teams," he concluded.
1666 Amsterdam was planned to be "the new Assassin's Creed."
