Stellaris

Stellaris

This is another 4X game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) and it also counts in for being grand strategy,

available for both single-player and multiplayer modes for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux platforms.

It is a work by Paradox Development Studio and Paradox Interactive as well as Martin Anward and Rikard

Åslund with production going under the supervision of Anna Norrevik and designed by several people like:

Henrik Fåhraeus, Joakim Andreasson, Daniel Moregård and Johan Andersson. The final appearance is given

by the artist Fredrik Toll and the composer Andreas Waldetoft with the overall help of Clausewitz Engine.

It counts for relatively fresh game as it was released in 2016. Although it is a new game, its requirements are

satisfying as you need minimum 2GB RAM to operate, as well as at least AMD HD 5770 or Nvidia GTX 460

and DX9 and will store up to 4GB of free space.

Stellaris is a real-time grand strategy game set in space, beginning in the year 2200. You are capable of

controling ships, including science, construction and military vessels. Combat is more centered towards the

bigger picture, preparation, and strategy. There are also diplomatic options such as alliances and trade

agreements with other races. The game begins by picking a species, its ethics, and its technologies. Picking an

alien and changing their ethics can change the way information looks and any species can have any of

the ship engineering styles. You begin with a single planet in your territory, a construction ship, a science ship,

three small warships, and a spaceport. Early gameplay mostly consists of exploring and colonizing space,

while mid-game activities focus on diplomacy and governing an empire. However, in the late game, crisis events

can occur that have galaxy-wide implications, for example, an uprising by sentient AI robots or an invasion

by extra-dimensional or extra-galactic forces, the former two always being triggered by careless empires. Paradox

hoped that this would address a common late-game problem in 4X style games whereby one faction is so

powerful that their eventual victory is inevitable, resulting in frustrating gameplay.

It features enormous procedural galaxies, containing thousands of planets as well as infinitely varied races through

customization and procedural generation also. Advanced Diplomacy system worthy of a Grand Strategy Game is also

present and a Ship Designer based on a vast array of technologies as well. And lastly, stunning space visuals give the game

an extraordinary looks.
