Teaser for ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove is Out

Adult Swim released a new trailer for the upcoming Sega Genesis reboot, ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove, that's certainly going to spark nostalgic excitement in gamers.

Once in a while, games from the past maintain their hold on gamers' hearts. It might be because of the game's captivating story, interesting characters, or unique gameplay, but whatever the reason, players can't help but remember. ToeJam and Earl is one of those games. The early '90s Sega game got highly praised by both players and critics for its originality, humor, and funky soundtrack.

Last year, gamers confirmed their love for the classic title when they succeeded to Kickstart a hip reboot of ToeJam and Earl. This week, Adult Swim kept hype alive for the game by releasing a short teaser trailer for the upcoming game, ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove.

It seems like the perfect time to get on a nostalgia trip back to before the turn of the millennium, especially now, since the game development community has to focus on so many new outstanding games. Regardless of many upcoming new games, lots of gamers are looking forward to new additions to Xbox One's backward compatibility and remastered versions of past hits such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Skyrim.

Even though the first ToeJam and Earl game was played in all its 16-bit glory, Back in the Groove will be on a more matured graphical standard. However, players might also have a chance to play the new title in an old-school skin that brings the crazy duo back to their Sega Genesis likeness. Players can still look forward to see the franchise's trademark wacky Earthlings and zany color scheme, built in a all new impressive 3D environments. There are also a lot of new features coming up, like the procedurally generated islands, zooming capabilities, and much more.

ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove will launch in 2017 for PC and consoles.
