Resident Evil 2 Might Soon Get Its Own Remake

Resident Evil 2's director said that he is very excited to announce a planned remake of Resident Evil 2.

Most of the Resident Evil games so far have encountered a remaster or remake. Resident Evil 2 is an exception, but it seems that it won't remain the case for too long. Both fans and the director of Resident Evil 2 have been desperate for a remake of the game and it appears that Capcom will give them what they want.

The original director of Resident Evil 2, Hideki Kamiya, talked about his excitement regarding the forthcoming Resident Evil 2 in a recent interview. Kamiya is hard at work with encouraging a Resident Evil 2 remake. He says that he often goes out drinking with the director of soon-to-be remade Resident Evil 5, Jun Takeuchi, as well as a team member of the original Resident Evil game, with who he made sure to talk about a possible remake of Resident Evil 2 every chance he got. He said: "Behind the scenes I go drinking with Jun Takeuchi every chance I get. I would harass him: 'You are making that remake, right?' And he would say, 'No, we are too busy with other games.' 'As a loyal fan to the game, not just its creator, I am more than happy to say that they listened to me, listened to us.'

Kamiya dropper all sorts of hints during a Polygon interview which indicates who will be the headline of the new remake. Even though Capcom keeps the director's identity a secret, Kamiya revealed that the director is a friend of his and that he has also worked on the original Resident Evil series, as well as Mega Man Legends. The possible 'suspect' is Kazunori Kadoi, who could be the director of the Resident Evil 2 Remake. He also worked on the design of Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which featured Resident Evil 2's Claire Redfield.

There is a small chance that a remake for Resident Evil 2 will be released soon. Gamers on the other hand, have discovered that a Resident Evil 2 demo will be included in Resident Evil 7 when it releases next year. The project is getting handled and as the former director seems to believe, gamers have a lot to look forward to once Resident Evil 2 gets its remake.
