No Man's Sky Reportedly Delayed
-----------Hello Games’ ambitious space game No Man’s Sky will not meet its original June 21 release date, and is now scheduled to launch sometime in July or August.
After the initial announce during the 2013 Spike VGX event, it wasn’t until late-2015 that a June 2016 release date was confirmed for the ambitious space epic. If a recent report is to be believed, by the looks of it, gamers will have to wait a little bit longer before they can play one of 2016’s most anticipated titles.
Two reliable sources have revealed that No man's Sky will be delayed from its original launch date, according to Kotaku. Meanwhile, Sony and Hello Games have not yet responded with any comment, one of Kotaku’s sources happens to work at GameStop, and was able to provide evidence that confirms the delay.
Sources from GameStop have stated that Hello Games has recently received marketing materials for No Man’s Sky, all mentioning the game’s original June 21 release date. However, stores also reported that the given release date is no longer accurate, and that it should be labeled with “Coming Soon”. As for what is the new release date, nothing has yet been finalized, but the July or August launch window is apparently being targeted.
No informations so far in regards to the reasons for this delay, but given the late announcement, perhaps No Man's Sky is in need of extra polishing before its ready for release. With a universe that's large enough to give players over 5 billion years worth of game time, and incorporate features such as specific alien languages, new mechanic for space exploration and an extensive trading economy system, it's a surprise the game wasn't delayed for a longer period of time.
In the end, this delay will probably have little to no difference on the excitement for No Man's Sky, and if two extra months of hold up is the reason for a great game and a masterpiece, gamers everywhere are certainly more than willing to wait it out.
