Final Fantasy 15 is Half Open World, Half Linear
-----------Square Enix's director for the upcoming role-playing game Final Fantasy 15 revealed that the title will contain half open world gameplay and half linear action.
During an interview with the Japanese press outlet Famitsu, the director of Final Fantasy, Hajime Tabata talked about many aspects of Square Enix's forthcoming RPG, with one tasty part in particular that stood out being that the game will be separated into two parts, as half of the title is going to be open world, while the other portion is designed to be a more linear experience. The director further explained that the release's chapters start at zero and go through 15.
This will likely going to strike some long-time followers of the franchise as an odd structure for Final Fantasy 15, but Tabata made a promise to fans that it's being done for the sake of versatility and to give players the chance to enjoy a more traditional sense of linear gameplay found in previous Final Fantasy entries.
In the same interview with Famitsu, Tabata declared that Final Fantasy 15's Season Pass won't have all of the game's DLC, as he and his team of developers at Square Enix have much more add-ons planned for future post-launch materials. Still, the director forgot to mention exactly what those pieces of content are going to be, much less how their potential gameplay would be structured or included into the final product.
In any case, after it was recently revealed that the release date of Final Fantasy 15 will be postponed by two months from its initial September 30 launch time, a number of fans are probably eager to get their hands on a copy of the title no matter what kind of gameplay it contains. Above all, with Final Fantasy 15 having been in development for almost 10 years, it's safe to assume that whatever Square Enix puts out at this point with the title, fans are just anxious to play it for themselves.
Final Fantasy 15 is scheduled to release on November 29, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
