Dishonored 2 Free Trial Coming This Week

The stealth-action title from Bethesda and Arkane Studio, Dishonored 2, is going to receive a free trial later this week, letting fans try out an early portion of the game free of charge.

Since Arkane Studios and Bethesda's stealth-action release Dishonored 2 lacked an official demo, the companies have now decided to release a free trial for the game later this week, starting on Thursday, April 6, 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Fans will be able to play through an early portion of the game by offering up the first three missions at no cost in order to give them a feel for what the title's all about.

On the plus side, Arkane Studios and Bethesda won't be restricting fans to playing only as one of the game's dual protagonists, Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano, which will give the free trial even more replayability. Having this in mind, with three missions being available in the free trial out of Dishonored 2's total of nine in all, gamers who haven't yet tried this stealth-action title will get a decent sampling of what the game has to offer.

Those who wish to get their hands on the free trial for Dishonored 2 this Thursday will be able to do so by downloading it from the game's store page on the PSN Store, Xbox Marketplace, or Steam, depending on players' platform of choice. Additionally, in order to get fans to buy a copy of the title, Arkane Studios and Bethesda will allow the players to transfer their save data from the free trial to the complete edition if they wish to pay for the game.

Regardless of the fact that Dishonored 2 got received well by both fans and critics alike, the game didn't sell as well as the developers had hoped, as its sales were down nearly 40% from the original entry in the series. The decision of Arkane Studios and Bethesda to put out a trial is undoubtedly an attempt to attract more players to the game and draw them into the story just so that they can convert their free playthroughs into solid sales.

Dishonored 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
