Crackdown 3 News Coming Very Soon

Crackdown 3's official Twitter account confirms that news and details about the upcoming open world game is coming soon, perhaps as soon as tomorrow.

After being a major highlight for Microsoft at gamescom 2015, Crackdown 3 basically vanished from the public eye, even skipping out on E3 this past year. Although the game has suffered countless delays, it looks like things are about to heat up for the open world action game as the official Twitter account confirms that additional info is on the horizon. With a confirmed Project Scorpio announcement, perhaps the horizon is closer than many think.

That seems to be the question many fans have on their minds as well, with one going as far as asking directly. Unfortunately, the reply didn't offer too much else in the way of answers, just stated that the Crackdown 3 team wasn't aware of what other teams were working on and that more news would be shared in the coming months. As for right now, it appears that the big Microsoft reveal is purely hardware based.

Taken into consideration it's one of Microsoft's major first party offerings expected to release later this year, it's entirely expected that Crackdown 3 will play a big part at E3 this year. With Microsoft's E3 show taking place on June 11 this year, one day earlier than normal, the plan to reveal more information on the game in the coming months lines up perfectly with the show.

Even with series founder David Jones taking Crackdown 3's development in his hands, things haven't gone as smooth as expected. After couple of delays and missing a number of larger events such as E3, an insider revealed that development has been rocky. With the cancellation of its gamescom 2015 partner Scalebound earlier this year, many started to wonder if the same fate awaited Crackdown 3. Thankfully, things are looking better for the title, and with a lot of information on the way, fans should expect to know more and see more about the destructible world of Crackdown 3 very soon.

Crackdown 3 is set to release sometime in 2017 for PC and Xbox One.
