Battlefield 1 Beta Size Revealed

The Battlefield 1 open beta is just around the corner, and a preview on the Xbox One store revealed that the single, playable map needs 6.2 GB of space to run.

It's only few days now until players are finally able to get access to DICE's Battlefield 1 open beta. What's interesting is that the game has appeared on the Xbox One Store not a while ago.

Although the Battlefield 1 beta won't be available until the end of the month, the store listing has appeared earlier for some Xbox users - though it should be specified that Microsoft fans are still unable to download the beta just yet. However, we now know the download size, which is 6.2 GB.

This news was shared by a fan-site Battlefield Bulletin who posted their findings on Twitter yesterday. Access to the store page is limited, however, which means that many users will have to be content with screenshots for now. It could be that the reveal was made slightly prematurely, considering the fact that neither PlayStation nor Origin users can enter the game page at the time of writing.

The beta will reportedly happen on the Sinai Desert map, where 64 players will fight it out in a World War 1-themed environment. Over there, players will get their first taste of the game's combat, both on foot and atop a destructive armored train.

The train isn't going to be the only option for moving around the map, however, as players will be able to ride a horse in the Sinai Desert. Unlike most of the vehicles in the Battlefield games, horses seem to allow players to use their weapons while mounted, something that will help make up for the fact that climbing on to a horse will make the rider a larger target.

Battlefield 1 is planned to launch on October 21 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The open beta is scheduled to begin on August 31.
