The term ‘indie game’ comes from ‘independent video game‘ which is a game that hes been done under no 

financial support by a publisher whatsoever. This has its advantages and disadvantages. The main disadvantage

would be the fact that it needs to be done under small team and with insuficient funds, resulting in smaller options 

available as well as maneuvering space. However, this absence of one publisher’s financial support, opens advantages too. 

For instance, the indie game developers are not restrained by the publisher’s obligations and this means that they have higher 

freedom in creativity which means that they have larger maneuvering space, creativity-wise. This results in indie games to be 

mostly labeled as innovative and field for artistic experimentation. But also an indie game does not necessairly mean that it is 

always a good one, many poor games are also labeled as being indie. However, we would mention only a few very good indie games.

So, our first on the list is offcourse the tripple A indie game by DONTИOD, “Life is Strange”.  We have said a lot about this freakingly good indie heaven game and about its voices behind in our article “Voices Behind” as well as the in game music in our “The Impact Of Program Music In Games” and offcourse the divine writers Jean Luc Cano and Christian Divine 

in our “Writers”  so we would not stress this topic again and will go onto the next one which is Firewatch.

 “Firewatch”  is also a indie game by Campo Santo and can be considered a typical indie game from the modern gaming era.  You can look-up our article mentioned above for further info if you haven’t previously read it.

The latest that we have from indie games is one game labeled as tripple A but is in fact very good, even awesome indie game and  that is No Man’s Sky. You can look-up our previous article on this game named “No Man’s Sky (And The Noise Around It)”  which was actually very badly criticised by the audience in lack of higher understanding. 

And lastly, we would like to mention Rime, a indie game between the two indie games “Papo & Yo” and "Pneuma: Breath Of Life",

which we will explore further in our next article.
