The Last Guardian New Screenshots Are Looking Gorgeous
-----------Team Ico and Sony Interactive Entertainment have officially released brand new screenshots for the upcoming PlayStation 4 action-adventure game The Last Guardian.
Ever since it was revealed that The Last Guardian was going to be a survivor of development hell, fans of the said genre understandably rejoiced, as the game's production has already been a part of public knowledge for seven years, give or take. Nevertheless, while Team Ico's follow-up to the outstanding Shadow of the Colossus still exists and has a solid October release date, few months have passed since fans have received any information regarding the launch.
With that being the case, Team Ico and Sony Interactive Entertainment took to PlayStation's official Facebook account lately to reveal brand new screenshots for The Last Guardian, presenting the unnamed young male protagonist and giant griffin-like creature Trico in couple of different in-game environments. Naturally, taking into consideration the fact that the title made a jump from PS3 to PS4 during its development, the visuals appear to be significantly smoother and more vivid than a lot of assets revealed in the past.
As seen in the new The Last Guardian stills below, the young boy and Trico are exploring various areas, with few of them being familiar, and others remaining unseen until now. For example, fans get a glimpse at the game's main characters admiring a waterfall that was briefly featured in its E3 2016 trailer, traveling across a precariously placed rope bridge, and spelunking deep into what might be an underground temple.
Although these latest screenshots for The Last Guardian are certainly wonderful to behold, most of the fans are still somewhat hesitant to fully commit to the title, as details about its plot and gameplay are relatively small. Similar to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, it seems as if developers are relying on part of the allure and charm of the upcoming release being its amazing nature, as the studio hopes that the attraction of the beautiful unknown draws fans to the game in order to uncover what lies within.
The Last Guardian is going to be available on October 25, 2016 for PlayStation 4.
