As stated by Sony Japan producer Jun Yoshido on Twitter, Team Ico and genDESIGN's upcoming action-adventure title The Last Guardian has officially gone gold.

Although the tweet has since been removed, the message from Yoshido simply applied to The Last Guardian, reading, "Gone gold, Waddup." At the time of writing, there has been no info as to why the Sony Producer has taken down this particular post on Twitter, but still, it's definitely enough to cause fans of one of the most expected games of holiday 2016 to breathe a sigh of relief that it finally arrives to the public.

Regardless of having recently been delayed for numerous amount of times with the last delay pushing The Last Guardian from its October release and giving it a launch date of December 9, the action-adventure game should launch on the PlayStation 4 before the end of the year has completed. Naturally, it remains to be seen if it will be worth the 10 year wait.

Couple of months ago at E3 2016, many journalists participated in a hands-on preview of the Last Guardian, with hopes of unraveling the mysteries of the title and come away impressed. However, the number of negative reports for the demo was huge, with those who played the build pointing out that it had controls and graphics issues, as well as problems with its overall gameplay.

Nevertheless, it's possible that The Last Guardian's developers went on to utilize such criticism and used it to fix the game. Of course, while it's certainly a far cry from actually having the ability to play the title, fans who are interested on educating themselves some more on The Last Guardian's content can watch various lengthy segments of gameplay footage to get a better idea of what to expect come December.

The Last Guardian is scheduled to release on December 9, 2016 for PlayStation 4.
