Sniper Elite 4 Gets Delayed Till 2017

Developer Rebellion has announced that WWII shooter, Sniper Elite 4, will be delayed till 2017. Along with this news, they revealed some new screenshots.

Recent years have shown that more and more games that should launch on set schedule, get delays into upcoming years. For example, No Man's Sky was delayed till August, while several games like Uncharted 4 and The Division didn't meet their 2015 deadlines. Another game has joined that list - Sniper Elite 4.

Rebellion revealed that Sniper Elite 4 won't meet its 2016 release date. However, they were able to come with a precise update on when the game will become available to players. Sniper Elite 4 will release on February 14 2017, and it will become available to PC, PS4 and Xbox One players.

Sniper Elite 4 is being set in a World War II Italy in 1943. The player will play as Karl Fairburne. This OSS agent has a mission to help the Italian resistance in taking down the fascist government that rules over the country. Rebellion seems to have done a great job of recreating Italy during that time.

The delay has possibly occurred due to some enhanced features that Sniper Elite 4 will include. Sniper Elite 4 is set to include much bigger maps than its predecessors, along with a single player, multiplayer versus and multiplayer co-op game modes. Which is a lot more than previous games in this franchise offered. Even though there were some rumors that the game could come with VR compatibility, it yet remains to be confirmed.

Sniper Elite 4 does need some improvement over the previous games of the franchise. Other Sniper Elite games have proven to be a lot of fun, but they had a severe lack in quality. For example, Sniper Elite 3 suffered from a lack of cohesion between different mechanics. Hopefully, this delay will make the Sniper Elite 4 experience much better for everyone willing to play it.
