Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets It's Launch Date

Rockstar Games has officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2 after years of waiting, and it promises an epic tale and a brand new online experience.

Take-Two and Rockstar Games have been teasing Red Dead Redemption 2 for months, and this week, after so many dropped hints and mentions, Rockstar revealed concept art which got fans more hyped about the release of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Unfortunately though, there is no information regarding the game's plot being revealed yet. It seems unlikely that the game will focus on Dutch's Gang, now that the seven silhouettes in the concept art resemble men, given that John's wife Abigail Marston was part of this group. The trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Thursday, October 20 at 11AM EST, which means that story details and rumors will be addressed then.

Now, the RDR2 website suggests the game will launch somewhere in 2017, with the PS4 and Xbox One logos both present. PC's logo isn't featured, which might mean that Red Dead Redemption 2 will not release for PC, not even as a port, as the first Red Dead Redemption released. On the other hand though, this might just mean that Red Dead Redemption 2 will not be available on PC on the day it launches, just like Grand Theft Auto 5, which arrived on PC quite some time after it came out for consoles. None of these have been confirmed yet, so it remains to be seen.

A lot of people have pointed out that the Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement page makes zero to no mention of the Nintendo NX. Now, some people have suggested that, as the NX doesn't have an official logo, Rockstar is holding off on an announcement till Nintendo makes their big reveal. Which would make sense, given the Take-Two's enthusiasm about the Nintendo NX and that it's interested in Nintendo's plans, it would look odd for its major upcoming release to skip the Nintendo platform.
