Recent Ubisoft Montreal Leaks Discussed by Far Cry 3 Director
-----------Patrick Plourde, Ubisoft Montreal's creative director speaks about the recent wave of leaks that came out of the studio.
In a new interview Patrick Plourde, who has previously worked on Far Cry, Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six franchises, spoke about the big number of leaks coming out of the studio recently.
"It’s a big company," Plourde explains. "It’s really difficult. I think it’s human nature, it’s a big corporation. But it’s tough for everyone. It’s rare that you don’t get a whiff of something, like 'oh, Valve may be working on VR!' Valve is probably the worst for it because every week it seems like there’s a rumor on what they’re doing. So yeah, I think it’s bound to happen."
Plourde currently is the creative director of the RPG Child of Light, which is due out this month.
"Right now it’s a standalone title in the sense it’s the first one so I want to make sure the story finishes and concludes, there’s no 'to be continued'," he explained. "After that, it depends on if it’s successful. Like everything. But I wanted to make sure this game was made so that whatever happens next it can stand on its own. A bit like the first Star Wars in a way, that it has a self-contained ending. I have some ideas for a follow-up, but we’ll see."
Child of Light launches on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on April 30.
