Overwatch's Symmetra is Getting Buffed in November

-----------
.....

Fans of Symmetra should rejoice, as Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan confirmed that Blizzard is looking into giving the support hero a buff in a November update.

As stated by Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan, in an interview with Business Insider, changes to Symmetra are absolutely on the list of things to do. Kaplan claimed that the turret-builder is one of Overwatch's least played heroes, however, he claims that this statistic might be deceiving.

“What happens commonly is players will play her on defense on the first part of a point, and then when they’ve lost that point, then they’ll switch off of Symmetra,” Kaplan commented, regarding the support character’s lack of use. “So, that definitely impacts her play time when you’re looking at the stats.”

The director also mentioned that a situational character such as Symmetra isn't really desirable, which means that changes made to the hero will certainly be looked at by Blizzard before deciding how to buff her. Every change that comes the Indian architect's way will probably only be active sometime in November, due to various other balancing issues on the agenda first. Meanwhile, Kaplan and the team are looking at balancing Ana, Widowmaker, and Junkrat in different ways.

Symmetra being the only support character available without any kind of heal, maybe Blizzard will see fit to raise the amount of shielding she can provide to her allies. Another buff could be reducing the charge time for the character's ultimate, in order to activate more teleporters to keep her team in the action, as well as making the character a bit more useful when it comes to attacking an objective.

Apart from her lack of use, stats that were released couple of months ago actually indicate that having a Symmetra on your side was a good thing, with the defensive hero holding a win rate of over 60% on all platforms. At the time, this was the highest win rate of all heroes, so the game got much different since then, or perhaps players have just gotten used to countering the turret and teleporting tactics.
