One Night in Karazhan Is Hearthstone's Next Adventure

Blizzard revealed the newest adventure that Hearthstone players will be able to get their hands on, as One Night in Karazhan expansion is scheduled to arrive next month.

Hearthstone is another example on Blizzard's expanding resume of just how important building characters and their charm can be to any video game genre. When the game first came out, players were captivated by its comical spin on the Warcraft universe just to find out later that the card game is fun and addictive as well. The combined polish and gameplay allowed Hearthstone to generate over $20 million in revenue each month in its early days, a number that has likely expanded even more as the game has become an important element on the eSports scene.

The decision from Blizzard to take turns between releasing massive card pool expansion sets and smaller sets called adventures has been hugely praised so far as a system that is keeping Hearthstone interesting and fresh. An announcement from the company was released via YouTube today that its newest adventure, called One Night in Karazhan, would be a cheerful take on Warcraft movie villain Medivh's as the Guardian in Karazhan.

It's obvious from the video that Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan adventure mode will be distinctly disco flavored, which will follow a party being organized at a pre-World of Warcraft Karazhan and its quest to find the missing host. 45 new cards are going to be released during the four weeks the adventure will take place, as the usual formula will also follow One Night in Karazhan, having one wing available weekly after the first wing is released.

In an attempt to follow up the massive and game changing expansion, Whispers of the Old Gods, Blizzard will offer a free prologue mission to prepare gamers for One Night in Karazhan. The introductery mission will give players the ability to take on the role of Medivh and will grant gamers two free cards for attending.

Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan arrives on August 11, 2016 for the PC, iPad, and Android and iOS mobile devices.
