New NASCAR Game For Next Generation Consoles Announced

-----------
.....

Stock car racing will return to consoles in September with a dedicated, fully licensed video game, NASCAR Heat Evolution that's been made by the same people behind NASCAR Heat series from nearly 15 years ago.

NASCAR Heat Evolution launches September 13th for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. The team making it, Dusenberry-Martin Racing of Charlotte, N.C., and Monster Games of Northfield, Minn., have collaborated on NASCAR Heat, which has released in 2000 and 2002 for several platforms.

Tom Dusenberry, the chief executive to the publisher, was the founder and former president of Hasbro Interactive, publisher of the first NASCAR Heat. Ed Martin worked on the original NASCAR Heat games and was director of EA Sports' NASCAR series for four years, before he decided to jump on the same gig with Eutechnyx. Richard Garcia, Monster Games president and lead developer for Nascar Heat Evolution has also worked on the original titles from 2000 and 2001.

A news release said that DMR has acquired the NASCAR license deal early last year which runs through 2020. Mobile titles are also in the works, but today's NASCAR announcement was all about the consoles and PC.

NASCAR Heat Evolution follows the series of five games, made by Eutechnyx from 2011 to 2015. The ambitious efforts were critically panned for the technical difficulty and esoteric appeal of the games. Afterwards, Dusenberry-Martin took over the publishing of last year's NASCAR '15 and acknowledged that it was mainly a reconditioned version of its predecessor.

DMR has said that NASCAR Heat Evolution will "dynamically adapt" to racers of all skills and will feature top drivers from all series, with fully branded cars and racing teams with an authentic career mode touring all of stock car motorsports' top venues.

After the Sprint All-Star Race, NASCAR Heat Evolution will name a cover star at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. that happens tomorrow. DMR will pick the best Toyota finish driver in that race to star on the box shot.
