More Smaller Games Coming From Ubisoft
-----------Ubisoft wants to make more games like Child of Light.
Even though Ubisoft's Child of Light didn't get as much attention as Watch Dogs, and was well received critically, the publisher reveals it wants to keep to make more games that aren't just engineered to become huge franchises.
"We are super happy with Child of Light," Ubisoft Montreal's VP of Creative, Lionel Raynaud said in an interview. "The team did a good job and the game had a great reception. We were proud to deliver something new and unique—a lot of people were surprised that Montreal was delivering this kind of game."
Raynaud said that the team behind Child of Light learned a lot about RPG mechanics during development, and that it has created a new core team within the studio. The people involved in the making of Child of Light want to work together again, be it on another small or bigger project.
"So yes, we will encourage other initiatives like Child of Light and there's a chance that we will have many more games like that in the future," Raynaud said. "I already have many different projects that are in the pitch stage."
Child of Light was released back in April for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
