Minecraft Xbox One Edition Gets a Release Date
-----------The game will launch tomorrow for $20.
Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One version of Minecraft will be available Friday, September 5 for $20(£16) to download.
A big discount is available for those who own the Xbox 360 version of the game, with the upgrade price to the Xbox One being $5 (£3).
"To qualify for the $5 upgrade offer, players must own the retail disc or digital version of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and connect to Xbox Live with their account," Microsoft explained.
All of the DLC purchases on the Xbox 360 version can be accessed for free on the Xbox One, plus all the saved content can be transferred.
Microsoft adds that Minecraft: Xbox One Edition allows players to generate worlds as much as 36 times larger than the Xbox 360 version. Offline multiplayer can support up to four players.
However, the Minecraft PS4 release date has yet to be revealed as earlier this month the studio that is porting the game to the console, 4J Studios, said the build had failed Sony's certification test.
So far Minecraft has been downloaded over 54 million times.
