L.A. Noire's Spiritual Successor Whore of the Orient Unlikely To Release

-----------
.....

Team Bondi's former producer confirmed that the Australian-based team has stopped working on Whore of the Orient, which was going to be a successor to L.A. Noire.

When L.A. Noire released, it was one of the most expensive video games ever made, and has been in development for almost 10 years. Looks like the time and money spent on making the game paid off, as the game earned praise from worldwide critics and managed to sell over 5 million copies.

Regardless of this success, the team behind L.A. Noire never got the chance to release their next game, a mysterious title named Whore of the Orient. Since an update was posted in 2013, developers at Team Bondi, now known as KMM Games, haven't so far released any info regarding Whore of the Orient. Today, Derek Proud, one of Whore of the Orient's former producers has finally said something about the title, expressing his doubts that it would ever be released to the public.

As stated by Proud, the team that was working on Whore of the Orient has stopped development on the project altogether. He added that he's respecting the team and the work they've done on finishing L.A. Noire, even though the similarly rough development on Whore of the Orient didn't have a happy ending.

For those unfamiliar, the work on Whore of the Orient was nearly cancelled in 2013 until the Australian government stepped in with $200,000 to help the game finish development. Regrettably, it appears as though additional funding by the government has since been depleted, and with no material to show for it, it seems that Australia will not be dedicating any more funds towards the development of Whore of the Orient.

It's worth mentioning that Proud haven't entirely confirmed Whore of the Orient's cancellation, but at this point, it's unlikely that the game will ever be released.

Whore of the Orient was developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
