Gears of War: Ultimate Edition PC and Xbox One Editions Won't Launch on the Same Day
-----------Microsoft has yet to reveal the release date.
The PC version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be released sometime after the Xbox One version launches on August 25.
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer revealed the news on Twitter, when addressing a fan's question about the PC release date. "Gears on Win10 is later than Xbox One version," he wrote.
A Microsoft spokesperson has provided IGN with the following statement:
"The Windows 10 version of ‘Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’ will release at a later time, following the release of the Xbox One version on Aug. 25. The team decided to prioritize polish and performance over street date – to make sure we deliver a great experience for PC gamers. The DX12 version will support 4K resolution, unlimited refresh rates and controller and mouse and keyboard controls, so there was a bit more for us to test, optimize and perfect."
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for PC was revealed by The Coalition during this year's E3. The Ultimate Edition will support 4K resolution on PC and feature DX12 support. The remastered game includes 19 multiplayer maps and six game modes, along with five campaign chapters never released on Xbox 360.
