Gears of War 4 Preloading is Live for Xbox One
-----------It's been confirmed by The Coalition that Gears of War 4's pre-loading size is approximately 54GB and is now live for Xbox One users, with the PC version set to arrive later.
In a latest Tweet from the official Gears of War Twitter account, it was confirmed that players on Xbox One can start downloading the Gears of War 4 game files ahead of its October 11 launch.
However, players had better be ready to clear some space on their consoles as The Coalition also confirmed that the game files will be a massive 54.6GB in size, which makes the rumored Gears of War 4 limited edition 2TB Xbox One S bundle a much more appealing prospect.
Even though PC players will also get the opportunity to play the highly-anticipated shooter, thanks to Microsoft's new Play Anywhere feature, pre-loading is currently only available for Xbox One users. Following the latest Tweet, The Coalition announced that pre-loading on PC is "coming soon" and that it's going to be available "well ahead of launch". A definite date for the PC pre-load wasn't revealed, however the studio did state that more info will be shared later.
Gears of War 4's upcoming launch is the second Play Anywhere game to support cross-platform play following the recently-released Forza Horizon 3, which coincidentally also had a delayed PC pre-load period compared to the Xbox One. Considering the fact that the Forza Horizon 3 PC pre-load was released couple of days before the launch of its Ultimate Edition, maybe this will also be the case for Gears of War 4 and we can hope for the PC pre-load to launch sometime around the Ultimate Edition's October 7 release date.
With only weeks left before the game finally arrives, it remains to be seen whether Gears of War 4 will live up to the hype as one of 2016's most anticipated games, but it has every chance of doing so judging by what was showcased at E3 2016 and all the amazing gameplay footage that has been displayed so far.
