Gears of War 4 Credit Earning Rates Increased
-----------Gears of War 4's latest update introduced another change to the credit earning system as The Coalition tries to satisfy fans upset at the way card packs are priced.
After the game's first week on the market, The Coalition responded to fan feedback by doing some adjustments to how credits were earned. The Elite Pack was brought down to 500 credits and the match completion bonuses have been increased, but this certainly wasn't enough to satisfy gamers that felt betrayed by the harsh pricing behind the random card system. Today, The Coalition has announced one more update for Gears of War 4's earning rates.
In an update released today, the credit earn rates got increased once again across all difficulties. For horde mode, the credit earn rates now change towards wave completion instead of consecutive wave completion, so those trying to plow through horde mode on higher difficulties don't miss out on credits if they don't succeed through as many waves. The level XP earn rate also got increased across all classes, although those who decide to buy horde card packs will still have a serious advantage over vanilla players in the game mode.
Naturally, The Coalition hasn't just been working on properly balancing the play time versus rewards problems. The studio released an update a week ago that introduced some much-needed multiplayer fixes for issues that affected Xbox One gamers (PC gamers were unaffected). That patch is supposed to help keep players from smashing their controllers in frustration, though it's unknown if somebody else is going to do so anyway.
As opposed to the multiplayer fix, the new credit earning update is for both Xbox One and PC versions of the game, and should be available for download once it's released.
Gears of War is available now for Xbox One and PC.
